Providing you with complete control over driver payments is one of the key features of Metrobi. Here, you'll have the flexibility to personalize the driver's payment and its structure according to your specific requirements, empowering you to better align with the needs of your deliveries.

Why is this important?

Setting the appropriate driver’s payment for your route is a crucial factor that is going to really help you have successful deliveries with Metrobi. You don’t have to overpay your drivers, but underpaying them might end up causing delivery problems and a hard time finding drivers for your deliveries.

*All the settings below are related to the driver’s payment page on your dashboard.

1. Decide between paying per hour or per stop

  • If you have small routes with stops close to each other, easy and fast products to be delivered, it’s recommended to pay your driver per stop. On the other hand, if your stops are not so close and the driver’s going to need to spend more time to complete the delivery, it’s recommended to pay your driver per hour.

2. Per hour, per mile, and return trip rate

  • If you choose to pay per hour, you will see both the per-mile rate and the per-hour rate. The former covers driver expenses while driving, and the latter reflects actual hourly pay. Also, to compensate the driver in case the last stop is far away from pick up, we also add a small fraction of the final rate called the return trip rate.

3. Per stop rate

  • If you choose to pay per stop, you will only see the per-stop rate. That is the price you pay for each stop. When you create your delivery, each stop you include will be reflected in the driver's payment by the addition of this amount of money.

4. Autobid

  • If you're struggling to find drivers for your deliveries, increasing their payment can be a viable solution. Our system provides an automatic feature for this. Simply set the maximum payment you're willing to offer, and our platform will gradually increase the payment up to the specified amount until the pickup time. This ensures that you have a higher chance of finding a driver for your delivery

5. Minimum commitment

  • Smaller deliveries can be challenging to find drivers for at times due to the low driver pay. This feature allows you to specify the minimum amount you are willing to pay for your driver, regardless of the number of stops or hours required.

6. Delivery requirements

  • If you have any special requirements for your deliveries, you can let the drivers know by using these tags. They will know exactly what you require and expect from them, increasing the likelihood of a successful delivery.

Setting up your driver’s payment might be a little tricky sometimes, so if you are on the support plan, talk to your dedicated ops representative, and they’ll be able to help you.
