Creating a delivery demands meticulous planning and attention to detail. By adhering to the following best practices, you'll ensure that every small detail and route requirement is accurately set on your dashboard.
Why is this important?
By implementing these best practices, you'll minimize delivery issues and maximize success rates. Furthermore, it empowers you with control over every aspect of the delivery process and keeps drivers well informed of key instructions at each stage.
Step by step:
1. Choose the date and schedule a new delivery
Everything starts here. Choose the date you’ll have your delivery and click "Schedule your Delivery". You can either use the rolling calendar or the calendar widget on your dashboard. A pop-up will show up, and you can follow the next steps.
2. Choose the pickup location
Enter the pickup address and select the correct location. A second pop-up will appear, requiring the addition of the location name, receiver's details, and most importantly, stop instructions. Including relevant information in this field is crucial to assisting the driver in successfully completing the pickup location stop.
3. Add a pick up time
This step is crucial in the delivery creation process. We highly recommend that drivers arrive a few minutes before the scheduled pickup time, and we rely on your punctuality as well. Avoid keeping drivers waiting for extended periods, as it may make it difficult to secure drivers for future deliveries.
4. Vehicle type
It’s important to schedule the correct vehicle type for each delivery. If your products have a larger volume, you might want to use a larger vehicle to have them delivered correctly. Bear in mind that each vehicle costs different amounts, and you might want to read another article to find out more about it.
5. Delivery Requirements
If you have any specific requirements for your delivery, you can select relevant tags, and your drivers will be able to see them on their app. Feel free to add as many tags as necessary, as this will greatly assist in ensuring a successful delivery
All these steps are super important and really need to be followed carefully to make sure that your delivery is exactly what you need. After creating your delivery, you’ll also need to add stops, optimize your route, change the driver's payment, and much more.
